Award-Winning Landscape: Large Residential Remodel

Overview

FireSky was hired for a large backyard remodel project that sought to make a large expanse of land more functional, visually appealing, and better connected to the front landscape. The design team increased the beauty of the space using captivating water elements, inviting gateways and neutral colors. The final design enhanced the beauty of the green, lush surroundings with the use of light-colored pavers and shrubbery.

Design

The FireSky design team embarked on this large residential remodel project with three priorities: openness, utility and tranquility. Imbued with European charm and local flare, the final design is dynamic, contemporary and intricate, with a clear navigation around the property that showcases the natural environment’s soft and seasonal colors. A gorgeous, award-winning water feature serves dual purposes, offering a sense of tranquility from one side and a more dramatic look on the other. The overall feeling is of a hidden garden oasis.

The project included the construction of a dining area, a fire pit area, two gates—one metal, one wood—with pergola arches, a water feature, a multi-level patio comprised of pavers, walkways and a shade structure. The dining area and fire pit area are separated by a walkway and grade change to provide the homeowner with distinct but navigable areas.

The team opted for light-colored pavers and stones to create the patio flooring, waterfall and walkways. Pergolas are made from medium-colored wood, while a black gate and fence rounds out the color scheme. These light and neutral colors accentuate the natural sunlight and greenery that surrounds the property, contributing to the open concept and clean design.
